So my university is intending on shutting down around three courses in the College of Arts - Theatre & Film, American Studies, and Cultural Studies. Want to know why this is ridiculously uncool?
- My friend, Dannielle, takes Theatre & Film and American Studies as her major and minor. If these courses are wiped out, her entire degree is pretty much gone.
- Not only Dannielle, but hundreds of other students are going to lose their degree as well. They have the choice of staying in Christchurch and doing other subjects that will still get them their degree, or go elsewhere and finish their degree in another city.
Guess what. Dannielle doesn’t really want to move. I don’t really want her to move.
What I’m getting at is this - if you guys can all GO HERE and sign the petition to keep the College of Arts running, it would be fantastic. You don’t have to be from New Zealand to sign it, and it would mean so much if you guys could!
:)
Just about recovered from Eastercamp 2012!
It was. Awesome!
Photos and videos were available by the time people got home!
Hope you enjoyed it! What were your highlights?
Yeah, that’s right! First term of Uni for 2012 is complete!
Who’s ready for a break?
A year ago I switched from Telecom XT to 2degrees.
It mainly came down to the fact Telecom runs on 850MHz, and 2degrees on 900MHz. Telecom phones therefore end up being about $100 more expensive for the same features. My Sony Ericsson broke and I was due for a new Android - I gave their entry level Samsung i5503T a go, after 2 days of endless troubles and unhelpful customer service, picked up a similar model phone I had lying around and switched my number across to 2degrees.
Here’s what I found:
Hopefully 2degrees will have some answers to the above soon!
With Telecom CDMA shutting down soon, I’m recommending that anyone who needs to upgrade and doesn’t use their phone a lot - take a look at 2degrees. But if you’re a heavy user - check out something like TelMe to help you pick out your plan. And if you’re still not certain - call their 0800 numbers and see how you find the experience.
So, which Teleco are you with?
I’m creating a foursquare list of the Best Places to Visit in Christchurch.
What am I missing - what are your suggestions?
